In April 2009 Blyth Metals Ltd expanded with the purchase of a processing plant formerly known as A. Owen & Sons Ltd. The plant is located on the Todwick Road, Dinnington site since 1958, processing steels by various methods of cutting, straightening and shot-blasting. There are 2 processing bays, each 4000 sq ft and over an acre used as a stocking area.
Current Main Processes and Capacities are:-
- Shearer/Cropper – 250mm up to 500mm lengths (up to 150mm sq / rd.)
- Bandsawing – billets. rounds up to 620mm
- Bump Straightening – 115mm x 10m lengths
- Shot Blasting
- Bundling
- Mobile Spectrometer Testing
